Trout anglers reported fewer catches last week, but a lot of huge fish hit the scales. Numerous trout over five pounds fell for Powerbait, Mousetails, and minijigs, and once again the Carolina rig, light line, and garlic scent seemed to score some of the bigger trout. Boat anglers did well trolling lures with tipped with redworms near the island. Some bigger catfish also came out to play. Several huge cats ate cut baits, dip bait, and chicken liver last week. Bass anglers picked away at largemouth with finesse techniques and spinnerbaits. One five pounder was reported by an angler using a trout imitation glide bait. The crappie bite has improved over the last couple weeks in the late afternoon. Anglers reported sold action on the slabs with live minnows and minijigs. Bluegill ate live worms under a bobber.
