Lake Nacimiento Fishing Report

12-3-2021
Chad Burton and Chris Borden

The lake fell to 9 percent of capacity, and fishing remained good. Finesse plastics in 10 to 25 feet of water have been the best way to entice bites. The spotted bass have also been going for Spro Rock Crawlers, jerkbaits, and crankbaits. Darter heads, Neko rigs, and drop shot rigged with Aaron’s Magic, Peoples Worm, and Ox Blood have all been getting good numbers of smaller fish, but the bigger bass went for the Rock Crawlers and reaction baits. Vertical spoons and ice jigs worked well for anglers who used their electronics to locate schools of bass, and white bass have been reported as bycatch for the bass anglers working vertical spoons. Catfish anglers reported fair fishing with dip bait and cut sardines.
