Fish Report for 12-10-2021
Limit style trout fishing over the last few weeks
12-10-2021
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
The lake held near 90 percent of capacity, and water temperatures have been in the upper fifties. Due to consistent and non-stop trout plants anglers have reported limit style trout fishing over the last few weeks. Dough baits, minijigs, Kastmasters, and spinners all got bite near the marina, and boat anglers reported trout scattered throughout the lake. Striper have been consistent for bait anglers using sardines, anchovies, and bloodworms. Anglers also trolled deep diving jerkbaits and umbrella rigs for bites, and a few huge striper were reported by anglers using large trout imitations first thing in the morning. Large and smallmouth fishing was fair last week, and anglers used Senkos, drop shot, and Texas rigged worms to fool bass along bluff walls and points. A lot of the bass have gone deep for the winter, and a slower presentation has been helpful. A few good quality crankbait fish were reported by anglers throwing deep diving shad-colored baits. Catfish anglers had another good week using cut baits, chicken liver, and dip bait in deeper coves around the lake.
