Coronado Islands Fish Report
2-20-2015
Gary Graham
It is almThe islands are kicking out more yellowtail. The zones to look at are the deepwater rockfish grounds north and east of Pukey Point through the deepwater drop off running through and north of the Middle Grounds, and along the east side of South Island into the flats.
The bigger, 18- to 30-pound grade yellows are almost exclusively sonar fish (same pattern as all the coastal yellows this winter) so keep a close watch on your meter. The smaller 10-pound grade yellows have typically been closer to South Island and the Middle Grounds proper and have been more willing to come up and eat trolled Rapalas and fly-lined baits, but they'll eat yo-yo iron just fine, too. There was a little flurry in the morning, but some of the better numbers have come from the mid-day tide change heading into low tide in the afternoon.....http://www.fishdope.com/
