Los Cabos Fish Report

12-6-2014
Gary Graham

Here is what happened this week: some big tunas came in at over 100 pounds! Pat Merriman and Michael Crawford from Portland. Then we had a few red snappers, blue fin jack and couple of sierra. But once the wahoo showed up, that is what most Captains and anglers had fun catching. The young lady in the picture is Whitney Cox, from Maryland.

So the bite has been wahoo daily. I have never seen so many wahoo in only one week!

Plus some nice dorado. ... Gricelda Smokehouse

Billfish action remained consistent for most of the fleet, rounded out with a few wahoo, yellowfin tuna and dorado.

Cabo Climate: A few passing clouds but warm days throughout the week with a very sunny Saturday. Temps varied from 64 nights to 88 daytime highs and 73% humidity ratio.

Sea Conditions: Pacific side: Golden Gate to Jaime Banks and in to Cabo San Lucas, all at 82 degrees and then from Cabo to the Outer Gorda Bank, all at 83 degrees --- mostly light and variable surface breezes flowing from the southerly directions that ranged from calm to about 10 mph. The entire area is providing good water clarity.

Best Fishing Area: Cabo Falso drop off to about 3 to 4 miles off shore and the Pozo de Cota area, 2 to 4 miles offshore....Larry Edwards Cortez Charters
