East Cape Fish Report
12-6-2014
Gary Graham
More wind than billfish these days as the wahoo continue to cavort from Rancho Leonero to the Lighthouse. Dorado seem to have either left in search of more fertile waters or they are just simply playing peek-a-boo.
A typical sign as December settles in is the influx of yellowtail, not a torrent yet but encouraging. As are the amberjack that seemed to have either returned or suddenly gained an appetite, along with other bottom critters including pargo ,triggerfish and grouper.
On the beach, the expectations begin with wind, and when it is late arriving the sierra are biting on most beaches where the bait is hanging out. Plus, an occasional roosterfish for the persistent angler. ...Cindy Kirkwood, East Cape Tackle
Here is a good place to check the wind conditions.
