Success Lake remained at 47 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing has been decent. Bass anglers reported largemouth in 5 to 30 feet of water with main and secondary points holding fish. Thin Senkos in green pumpkin with red flake, drop shot, and shaky heads all worked to fool bass. Crankbaits and jigs with a crawdad trailer worked for bigger females staging for the spawn in 10 to 20 feet of water. Catfish ate cut mackerel, dip bait, and nightcrawlers in deeper coves around the lake. Crappie anglers reported better fishing while throwing minijigs and small live minnows.
