The water flows have increased a bit in the Upper Kern over the last couple days but remains ideal for fishing. Anglers have been scoring trout from Riverside Park in Kernville to Johnsondale Bridge with salmon eggs, minijigs, spinners and pinched crawlers. It’s been a month since the last plant in the Lower Kern, but trout continue to come out. Trout have been coming on salmon eggs, trout jigs, GULP! pinched crawlers and garlic scented Powerbait. The Bass action is solid and can be found throughout the Lower Kern with Get Bent Baits, Senkos, jigs, and spinners. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River was flowing at 1234 CFS and the Lower Kern River was flowing at 756 CFS.
