Cabo San Lucas Fish Report- The Gaviota Sportfishing Fleet and Fish Cabo Fleet

Dorado were the fish of the week in Cabo San Lucas and most of the boats had from 1-4 fish in the "keeper" sizes that ranged to 50 lbs. The billfish catches were pushing a one per boat average that included sailfish, stripers and black marlin combined. The overall catches for 25 days fished reflected 2 black marlin, (smaller fish) 2 sailfish, 19 stripers, (12 released) 1 giant squid, 12 yellowfin tuna and 68 dorado.

Cabo Climate: Hot and dry and partly cloudy conditions, with temps from 78 nights to 102 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Very good throughout the area, from the Pacific to the Sea of Cortez. Temps were 85 at the Golden Gate Bank and down to Cabo San Lucas and gently rising to 87 around the corner and up toward the Gorda Banks and Los Frailes.

Best Fishing Area: Remains on the Pacific side from the Golden Gate Bank to the Jaime Bank.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was best for the billfish and the dorado, especially on the drop-back for the dorado.

Live Bait Supply: Mostly caballitos and good availability.
