Captain Temo Verboonen reports a very good blue marlin bite just 6 miles out front of Zihuatanejo Bay, with the fish biting well on the artificials they have been using for sailfish. A good mix of bigger dorado also active on the artificials in the same area and a few sailfish getting to the lures before the blue marlin and dorado. The blue marlin averaging about 200 lbs. and have been overly eager when coming in on the spread. The inshore action continues to be good for the bigger Sierras and jack crevalle but just a few roosterfish in the mixed bag reports.

IZ Climate: Superb weather conditions with a full week of bright, sunny days and temps that ranged from 64 nights to 87 daytime highs, along with a 65% humidity level.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps stable at 84-85 degrees from inshore to offshore, along with excellent clarity at about 5 miles outside the Bay. Surface breezes are flowing from the westerly directions and range from calm mornings to about 8 mph. Very favorable fishing conditions for the anglers.

Best Fishing Area: Right at the 6-mile mark directly out front of the Bay.

Best Lure/bait: Artificials were working very well for the blue marlin and dorado, along with a few sailfish in the mix. Sailfish more eager on the rigged baits.

Bait Supply: Excellent! Plenty of fresh baits for rigging, included with the charters and a good live bait supply too, at $5.00 per dozen.
