Here at Ming Lake, the bass action has significantly improved over this past week. Our contacts reported fooling bass with Keitechs and 5-inch green pumpkin Senkos. They’re also smashing yamacraws in South African, green pumpkin and red patterns. The bass are active and spreading out throughout the lake. Chatter baits and spinnerbaits have been scoring bass later in the day. The Crappie bite took off this week. On Thursday we got reports of anglers scoring crappie with small live shiners and crappie jigs in deeper water. Trout were stocked a couple weeks ago, and holdovers are still showing. Trout have been going for minijigs, spinners, pinched crawlers and garlic scented Powerbait.
