Kaweah Lake fell to 19 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing remained fair. Bass anglers reported seeing fish up shallow which means the spring bite could kick off soon. Drop shot, Ned rigs, and other finesse baits were the best way to get a bite, but crankbaits and jerkbaits pulled some fish too. Vertical spooning techniques are still working for the deeper bass. Crappie fishing was fair on small live minnows and minijigs, and catfish anglers threw out dip baits and cut baits for a few whisker fish. Trout anglers used dough baits, minijigs, and spoons and spinners for decent numbers.
