Fish Report for 9-23-2022
The Crappie bite has the most improvement
9-23-2022
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Isabella is down to 7 percent capacity and the cooler temps were a welcome relief from the long hot summer. Our contacts reported quality Bass to 8 pounds coming on deep diving crankbaits, jigs, and large worms near Engineers Point. Dragging large shad patterned crankbaits thru the mud off Rocky Point have fooled better grade fish. The Crappie bite has the most improvement, with slabs coming around structure and near the dam in 15 to 20-feet on minijigs, underspins and live minnows. Crappie have also been coming on Bass assassins under a bobber tipped with crappie nibbles. Trout fishing from shore has been slow, but boat anglers trolling flicker shad have been connecting in deeper water. The Catfish bite is solid with fish to 10 pounds coming on Triple S Dip Bait, frozen shad, and shrimp.
