Action on Crane Has Been Heating Up

Fly and Field Outfitters

Action on Crane has been heating up. Access has improved now that the Quinn, Rock Creek and Resort boat ramps are all opened up. Crane is one of the few places where water levels aren’t scary low, so launching a boat won’t be too challenging. The fish seem to be keying into the chironomids recently, as well as balanced leeches. Keep your nymphs around the 14 - 18 size range until it gets warm up there. Fish seem to be about 7 - 10 feet deep. The fish are also spread out and stripping leeches or damsels can be a really effective way to cover a lot of water. Don’t let cool weather prevent you from heading up to Crane this week. Layer up and catch some big ‘ol bows.

Recommended Dries: Chubby Chernobyl Patriot and Purple #12-14, Para- Cricket #16-12
