According to Captain Temo Verboonen, owner/Captain of the Secuestro de Amor, the bite has been a notch above excellent for the past week and the fish are biting for everyone. The offshore waters, (starting at about 7 miles) is producing some fast action on sailfish and dorados with the boats averaging 4-5 strikes per day and the bit extends farther offshore to about the 15-mile mark. According to Temo, "The area is very fishy right now and the fish want to bite, especially in the blue water offshore. The inshore fishing has slowed with only an occasional roosterfish but still a little action on jacks and groupers at the rocks but it takes more effort than last week.


IZ Climate: Varied from sunny and warm days to partly cloudy days and even a few PM showers. Light tropical breezes and temps that vary from 70 nights to 88 daytime highs and an 83% humidity level.

Sea Conditions: Excellent for a change! Sea temps stable at 84-85 degrees. Surface breezes flowing from the westerly directions that ranged from calm in t he mornings to 8 mph as the day progressed.

Best Bait/Lure: Rigged baits working very well for both, sailfish & dorado but the dorado are also biting the lures.

Bait Supply: An excellent bait supply for both, fresh rigging baits and live baits. Live bait is $5.00 per dozen.
