The week produced another great round of action for the anglers and overall, the boats averaged more than 7 fish per outing. One of the bright spots for the week was the landing of a couple of off season sailfish with the mixed-bag catches that included a 14 fish variety. The overall reports for 25 days fished reflected 2 sailfish, 15 giant barracuda, 42 bonito, 5 blackfin tuna, 1 shark, 7 needlefish, 8 Spanish mackerel, 6 amberjack, 2 soapfish, 10 grouper, 9 banana fish, 13 triggerfish, 45 chak-chi and 26 snappers.


PM Climate: It has been a week of partly cloudy and sunny days with thunder showers for the weekend and temps that varied from 68 nights to 82 daytime highs and a humidity level at 69%.

Sea Conditions: Sea temperatures remained stable at 83-84 degrees throughout the area from Cancun to Cozumel. A mostly calm ocean this past week with surface breezes flowing mostly from the northeasterly directions to about 9 mph.

Best Bait: The excellent supply of freshly caught ballyhoo baits continue to be the bait of choice for the anglers and crews along with the varieties of fish in this area.
