According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the past week has been hampered by the difficult weather of summer that included rough seas, big waves, rain and only allowed for a single day's inshore fishing for roosterfish that provided a lack of action for a fly fishing angler. The current storm in our area is "Elida" that is predicted to diminish within the next 24-hours and become a non-event, albeit, we could easily see rain from her wrath. Extra-Tropical conditions prevail in our area each year and it is the time when we incur the heat, humidity, rain and the severe summer storms that include tropical depressions to full-blown hurricanes and this year, so far, is no different.


IZ Climate: The weather prediction for Zihuatanejo is 60-80% for thunder storms and scattered showers through next Tuesday, followed by a few days of dry-out time from Wednesday through the weekend. Air temps are warm, ranging from 73 nights to 92 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Mostly rough and choppy sea conditions and big waves with scattered showers. Warm sea temps holding at 85-86 degrees from the shoreline to 40-plus miles or so. Current surface winds are residing and anticipated to be in the calm to 8-10 mph ranges, flowing in from the south to west directions.
