The better bite area for the stripers continues to be in the offshore waters on a line between the 95 fathom spot to the 1150 fathom spot and from there, on to the northerly directions, all along the 1000 fathom curve. High boat for the week was the "Tuna TTime", reporting in for 4 days fished with 9 stripers released, 3 dorado and the only two wahoo taken for the fleet. Fish Cabo, reporting in for 3 days fished reflected 7 stripers released and 2 dorado. The overall combined catches for a total of 20 days fished reflected 36 stripers, (35 releases) 1 sailfish, (taken aboard the "Gaviota VII" and released) 2 wahoo, 1 yellowfin tuna and 13 dorado.

Cabo Climate: An odd type of week, warm, some humidity, a little rain and a port closure day. Temps ranged from 70 nights to 95 daytime highs with a mostly cloudy week with sunny conditions projected for the weekend.

Sea Conditions: Starting at Cabo Falso on a line out to the 95 fathom spot, on to the 1150 fathom spot and along the 1000 fathom curve, water temps ranged from 75-79 degrees. Surface winds in the 10-15 mph ranges and a small, residual swell from the passing effects of hurricane Eric.

Best Fishing Area: While stripers were caught in all areas, the better bite remained on a line between the 95 fathom spot and the 1150 fathom spot.

Best Bait/Lures: Live bait was best for the stripers and dorado, albeit, some boats had good luck with the artificials. The wahoo started out as a 4-way jig strike with 2 fish falling off.

Live Bait Supply: Remains consistently good with plenty of live caballito availability at the $3.00 per bait rate.
