Shogun heads home with an assortment of Yeloowtail & Bluefin
7-7-2012
Bill Roecker
"We finished our three day trip off nicely today," noted Shogun's report for July 6, "with some good fishing on nice grade bluefin tuna and a few nice yellows. The morning got off to a quick start when Captain Aaron found a nice sonar school that charged the boat and marched right to the corner. Chaos quickly ensued, with every sardine hitting the water being snapped up by greedy bluefin. After the initial rush, the school settled in down swell and we plunked away for the next couple hours always keeping one to four fish hooked at a time. The rest of the day we hopped kelps and various sonar schools and picked up a few more bluefin and a few healthy yellowtail to 25 pounds.
"We are currently pointed towards home and should arrive back to Fisherman's Landing about 10:00 tomorrow morning. Our weather continues to be excellent today and we are enjoying a nice ride up."
