Fish Report for 7-4-2012
On the last day, Shogun takes another shot at a couple of Bluefin schools before heading home
7-4-2012
Bill Roecker
"Today was our last day of our 5 day trip," said the report from Shogun July 3. "We got off to a decent start, finding a nice spot of jumping bluefin that rushed the boat. Unfortunately they did not stick around for very long and after catching a few nice fish we were back on the move. For the next few hours we searched around for another spot. Then just as it was looking grim we got one at the buzzer. About 10 minutes before Captain Cole was going to call the trip and head up the line for home, Crewmember Mike spotted a giant school of commercial grade bluefin tuna that were not line shy at all. We ended up putting a couple of kill boxes together of great healthy fish, and pointed it for home. There were a lot of happy people today, with plenty of time to relax around the boat in great weather for the ride home. Our ETA back to Fisherman's Landing is 7 am tomorrow morning. We have a 3-day turn around trip leaving tomorrow so stay tuned for more sportfishing reports."
