Short Reports from the Royal Star, the Searcher & the Shogun, July 2, 2012

With some good luck, we might see the long-awaited albacore bite begin during the next few days. It's happened before, on or around Independence Day.
Royal Star and Searcher had short reports for July 2.
Royal Star
The Star fished an island for some halibut and quality yellowtail, and expected to go after the bluefin today, as the weather is coming down at last.
Searcher
Searcher reported having 55 bluefin aboard at midday on July 2, while fishing at about 160 miles from San Diego.
Shogun
Shogun reported late Saturday evening on June 30 that she had a dorado jigstrike that turned to a brief encounter with bluefin as the boat headed southward.
