Bass In The Kelp on the Qualifier 105 Skiff Trip
6-9-2011
Bill Roecker
"This morning at first light we dropped the skiffs in," said the report from Qualifier 105 June 7, "and headed off for bass in the kelp at the north end of Cedros. Fishing was very good with most guys landing at least a dozen or more fish, all big ones. During the second morning run guess what, the wind started to blow. The weather this first couple of trips has us on the ropes. If we had any more wind the skiffs would not even, be it the water. You could plan on getting a little wet during the ride to the kelp from the big boat. Some big bass were landed before we had to get out of there. We headed down the island for some drifts but fishing was not very good along the rocky shore. We loaded the skiffs and headed for Benito's around 4 PM. We will be there tomorrow."
