Another good fishing week from Mazatlan that included an up-swing report on the yellowfin tuna and a a near 100% average on the billfish counts and respectable numbers of dorado. The inshore fishing was excellent for dorado with easy limit fishing and rounding out the catches with corvina. The fleet fished a total of 17 offshore days that reflected 2 smaller blue marlin, (under 250 lbs.) 1 striper, 13 sailfish, 22 yellowfin tuna and 33 dorado for the anglers. The 4 inshore fishing days from the super pangas reflected limits of dorado and 15 corvina and good opportunities for catch & release dorado fishing throughout the day. It's good light tackle and flyfishing time as the fish remain eager to attack surface bait or lure movement.

Mazatlan Climate: A couple of partly cloudy days but mostly sunny, clear and warm and temps from 76 nights to 88 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Mostly calm with light offshore breezes and temps att 87-88 inshore and a break at about 20 miles, falling to 84. Clean green water to about 18 miles, then bluing and clearing to near perfect.

Best Fishing Area: There hasn't really been a specific location that produced a concentration as the fish were somewhat scattered over a wide area throughout the area from south to southwest of the Marina El Cid, starting at about 18-20 miles.

Best Lure/Bait: Sailfish were best on the rigged baits. Both blues taken on artificials. Dorado and tuna taken on lures, feathers and live bait.
