Cabo San Lucas Fishing Report

The dorado bite continues to be the main attraction for the anglers
with the boat averaging 4-6 fish per day with the mainstay of the
bite on the Pacific side of Cabo. The billfish bite was a little off
this week with only 50% of the boats landing a striper, but nearly
all had an opportunity or two. A minor tropical depression rolled
through the area on Monday afternoon through Tuesday and dumped a
good rain soak on the area before it passed on through the Todos
Santos area and on up the Baja Peninsula, allowing for a one day
closure of the Port. Cabo should be pretty green within a day or
two. The overall combined fish counts for a total of 10 boat days
fished reflected 5 stripers released, 1 wahoo, 7 yellowfin tuna and
45 dorado for their efforts.
Cabo Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps that range from 74 nights to 96 daytime highs and currently humid.
Sea Conditions: a 4 degree temp break running north & south from Cabo, with 84-85 on the Pacific side and rising to 87-88 on the Sea of Cortez side and mostly clean, blue water and light NW surface breezes.
Best Fishing Area: Continues to be on the Pacific side. All of the tuna were taken on the Golden Gate Bank.
Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was best for the billfish and for the dorado, especially after a fish was hooked on the troll and the followers moved up to the boat.
Live Bait Supply: Remained very good even with the full moon condition.
