Puerto Morelos Fishing Report

The Puerto Morelos fishing from the Marina El Cid sportfishing fleet continues to provide excellent action of mixed bag catches that ranged from surface to bottom fish. A little slow on anglers this past week allowed for 13 combined fishing days and reflected catches of 2 sailfish, 18 king mackerel, 26 Spanish mackerel, 31 bonito, 3 Atlantic barracuda, 3 dorado and 1 wahoo for the offshore and 1 red snapper and 2 triggerfish for the bottom fishing. The newest boat in the fleet, "HAMMER", produced the only dorado, and 1 sailfish, along with 4 bonito for a single outing.

PM Climate: Mostly cloudy days, temps from 75 nights to 92 daytime highs and about a 60% chance for PM and night rains.

Sea Conditions: A very good week with light surface winds and small swell and minor wind chop with approximately 5-10 knots of easterly breeze and sea temps at 85-86.

Best Bait: Continues to be the rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo that are taken in the local waters.
