Aqueduct anglers reported typical midwinter conditions
2-2-2024
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Aqueduct anglers reported typical midwinter conditions with striped bass, catfish, and bass all hitting the scales. Striper anglers soaked cut sardines, lugworms, and jumbo live minnows with some anglers scoring limits of midgrade fish. Striped bass also fell for the occasional jerkbait or Fluke on a jig head. Catfish slurped up any of the usual smelly baits on the Carolina rig with Triple S dip bait producing well. Largemouth were lethargic. However, slower presentations with finesse baits still took fish in the eddies and near outtake grates.
