Fish Report for 9-9-2022

Fishing has been hit or miss

9-9-2022
Chad Burton and Chris Borden

The lake held at 92 percent of capacity, and fishing has been hit or miss. Water conditions remain heavily clouded with algae which makes locating weed pockets and edges difficult. There’s been a topwater bite first thing in the mornings, and weedless frogs got grabs near the cattails. In the afternoons bass anglers used Texas rigged six in worms in Aarons Magic, motor oil, and Green Pumpkin to pull bass from the weeds. Senkos and small swimbaits worked for bites along bluff walls. Striper anglers trolled umbrella rigs, small swimbaits, and large Kastmasters for schoolie sized striper. The striper also ate cut sardines, anchovies, and chicken liver in 25 to 60 feet of water. Catfish took dip bait, chicken liver, and cut baits on the bottom.
