Fish Report for 7-8-2022
Reaction baits worked well in the morning
7-8-2022
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
The lake held at 23 percent of capacity, and anglers reported another solid week of fishing. Reaction baits worked well in the mornings, and bass anglers switched finesse baits in the afternoons. Topwater, underspins, and crankbaits all got bite early, and drop shot, darted heads and Ned rigs worked in deeper water later in the day. Bass anglers also worked vertical spoons near shad schools in 30 to 40 feet of water. White bass have been chasing shad, and anglers targeted them with topwater lures, spoons, and shad imitation swimbaits. Crappie bit small live minnows in 10 to 15 feet of water, and catfish anglers used dip bait and nightcrawlers for bites.
