Anglers had to contend with heavy 4th of July boat traffic

Anglers had to contend with heavy 4th of July boat traffic, but that didn’t stop them from landing some quality bass, crappie, and catfish. Bass anglers found biters in the cattails and along weed lines. Weightless Senkos and pitching techniques scored some of the bigger bass, but topwater frogs and poppers also worked for bites in the morning hours before the lake got busy. A 10-pound catfish was reported by a night angler using Triple S Dip bait, and numerous smaller whiskerfish fell for anchovies and sardines. Crappie ate small live shiners and minijigs near submerged cover.
