Puerto Morelos Fish Report- The Marina El Cid- Cancun To Cozumel Area
6-11-2009
Larry Edwards
Fleet Manager, Armando Gutierrez, reports the fishing action tends to
improve with more boats fishing but the biggest difference is the
length of the charter. Our 6-8-hour charters almost always do much
better, as the boats can fish farther and longer. Overall catches
for 14 days fished reflected a wide variety that included 4 dorado, 3
king mackerel, 12 barracuda, 8 trigger fish, 16 red snapper, 1 wahoo,
1 amberjack, 1 jack cravelle and 1 yellowfin tuna.
PM Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps from 75 nights to 93
daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Temps were stable at 83-84 degrees throughout the
area. Light tropical surface breezes, generally under 10 knots.
Best Bait/Lure: Rigged ballyhoo continues to be the best catch
producers for this area.
