Mazatlan Fish Report- The Aries Sportfishing Fleet
6-11-2009
Larry Edwards
Another fine fishing week of all dorado in the catches and easy limit
fishing for most days. This is superb light tackle fishing and fly
fishing action and the fish are eager on live bait, strip baits,
Rapalas and pencil poppers, too. Overall, it was fast action and
there were many releases of smaller fish, (under 10 lbs. or so).
Some of the offshore cruisers are catching limits of dorado before
veering offshore in search of the billfish, which, unfortunately,
have not been productive this past week. Fishing dorado at the shark
buoys is superb action that allows for all anglers to land fish and
enjoy a great fishing day.
Mazatlan Climate: Mostly sunny & warm days with temps from 73 nights
to 96 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Good temps that range from 83 inshore and rise to 84
offshore, with very light surface breezes and almost no swell.
Best Fsihing Area: Remains at the shark buoys, about 18 miles off
shore.
Best Bait/Lure: These dorado seem to like the live bait best, but
good action on streamers, strip baits, pencil poppers, (red & white)
and the Rapala's. The live bait producing the bigger fish.
