The Cabo San Lucas Fish Reports- The Gaviota Sportfishing Fleet and More

The full moon took it's toll on the Cabo fishing, along with some difficult and windy fishing days. While the water temps on the Sea of Cortez side are rapidly warming up, the fishing has yet to stabilize throughout the area. Also adding to the dilemma is the lack of anglers throughout the entire Los Cabos area, due to the world wide economic scenario. Overall fish count reports for a combined 25 fishing days reflected 9 stripers, (4 released) 2 dorado, 4 sierra and 19 yellowfin tuna.

Cabo Climate: Mostly sunny and warm, temps from 68 nights to 99 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Generally windy from the Northwest but fairly calm on the inside of the peninsula, with water temps stabilizing from Cabo to Las Frailes and outside to the 1000 fathom curve. Just NW of the 1150 Fathom Spot, the water increases to 84-85 degrees.

Best Fishing Area: Continued to be in the 1150 Fathom Spot area and outside of there.

Best Lure/Bait: Not reported

Live Bait Supply: Remained OK, even though the full moon, with some mix of mackerel and caballitos.
