The Puerto Morelos Fish Report- Marina El Cid, Cancun-Cozumel Area
5-22-2008
Larry Edwards
The fun fishing part for the Puerto Morelos area is the "never know
what you're going to catch" syndrome. It's always a wide-variety
smorgasbord that keeps the anglers anxious for the next bite. As the
warmer waters continue to penetrate this area, more & more dorado are
becoming available and while the catching did slow-up a little over
this full moon period, look for it to get back into full swing,
shortly. Overall catches for 16 days fished reflected 2 sailfish, 9
giant barracuda, 5 red snapper, 1 bonito, 2 king mackerel, 1 cabrilla
and 16 dorado, (mahi mahi).
Puerto Morelos Climate: A sun-cloud mix with temps from 80 nights to 92 daytime highs.
Puerto Morelos Sea Conditions: An even, stable water temp at 84 degrees throughout the area with P.M., wind chop and tropical breezes from 10-18 knots.
Best Lure/Bait: Continues to be the rigged/skirted ballyhoo
