According to our on-the-spot reporter, Ms. Jessica Ortega, summing up the action for the Marina El Cid Sportfishing Fleet from Puerto Morelos, the billfish bite has been superb and making many happy anglers on a daily basis. On top of the good billfish bite th dorado came in first as the fish of the week and these special fish are not just terrific food-fare, they are more than fun to catch and like the billfish, tend to jump all over with an ariel show of bright colors and air-show action. The overall fish counts for a total of 67 days fished reflected 3 blue marlin, (under 300 lb. fish) 6 white marlin, 6 sailfish, 83 dorado, 13 giant barracuda, 23 bonito, 4 Spanish mackerel, 4 blackfin tuna, 9 wahoo, 3 banana fish, 13 triggerfish, 17 snappers and 19 chac-chi. All in all, the fishing is getting better and the weather is cooperating, too.
