Fish Report for 11-12-2008
A full day of classic ridge yankin' and crankin' served as a perfect, therapeutic follow up to yesterday's near skunk on the outside. Aside from a little trolling and a few position changes, we enjoyed an entire day of anchor fishing immensely pleased with the steady action on mixed yellowfin tuna, yellowtail, Dorado, an occasional striped marlin, and even a few Wahoo. To make it even better, the weather and sea conditions that extracted some dues from us on the prior night of travel up the line, decreased throughout the morning and evolved into a beautiful day by early afternoon with light winds and mild seas. Ah yes, a good time was had by all.

With that under our belts, we are continuing the northward trek hoping to mix it up again tomorrow with a variety of beach and offshore action. The latter will certainly be weather dependent, but the present forecast suggests that we are in good shape for one final go on the outside before calling it at day's end. In the meantime we are enjoying the ride and our good fortune and look to end the fishing portion of the voyage on a high note tomorrow.

The love today came in the form of three opportunities at the big yellowfin tuna we were hoping to find, but the fact that we lost all three, as uncharacteristic as that is for us, was mighty painful. Otherwise it was a long day of searching with plenty of ground covered following which I offer this assessment. Tag Heuer Link...... Read More

Well I don't have any miraculous events to report today as we worked our tails off to make a catch from various groups of wily tuna that showed only a slight interest in our offerings. Rest assured however we were not deterred and perseverance paid off in the end with another nice day on school size yellowfin tuna that was fortunately made in a zone sheltered from the weather. Yes, the flat calm weather we enjoyed for the past several...... Read More
