No boats have been down there since the weekend but a bunch are online to run for this weekend. At last word the volume of 18- to 30-pound yellowtail was incredible. VERY GOOD chance this is still the case. This is all deep-water stuff just like Box Canyon up north ... big spots of yellowtail down from 120 to 220 feet in the water that is 180 to 275 feet. Yoyo iron was HOT but so was everything else -- butterfly jigs, Lucanus jigs and the dropper loop sardine all worked great. The fishing for big reds and lings is also very good IF the yellowtail will allow you to get down to them.

2-6-2015These areas are between Ensenada and Colonet. All the rock piles and hard bottom areas in 20 fathoms or greater are loaded up with yellowtail.
