We are on the way home from another great trip," wrote skipper Billy Santiago Jr. October 13. "Weather is perfect for traveling home. A slight breeze out of the northwest at 12 knots, seas are 3 to 5 feet, with clear skies. We ended our trip with a few large Yellowtail, and 3 Wahoo. We departed Alijos rocks at 10:00 hours. The crew did a few things around the boat, passenger read, watched a good movie, or just relaxed. We should arrive to Fisherman's landing the 14th of October at 07:00 hours. I would say that an 11-day trip is what the fall fishing is all about. We caught Yellowtail, Grouper, Pargo, Wahoo, Yellowfin, Dorado, just a great time at every spot we hit."
First place was won by Fred Adams of Tehachapi, for a 119-pound yellowfin. Charles Smith of Menifee got second for a 110-pounder, and Chris Petersen of Castaic won third place for a 106.8-pound tuna.
