Mike Keating docked his Spirit of Adventure at H&M Landing October 3 after a five-day Central Valley Marine charter with 22 anglers.
Charles Mance of Tracy won first place for a 76.6-pound tuna he got with a sardine on a 4/0 ringed Super Mutu hook. He said he fished with 50-pound Izorline and a Penn/Tiburon 4/0 conversion and a Seeker 6470 rod.
"He fought like a mad dog," said Mance.
Chartermaster and Central Valley Marine owner Brett Townsend of San Jose was second, for a 73-pounder. Jason Eggert of Pleasanton won third place for a 67-pound yellowfin tuna.
