Puerto Morelos Fishing Report

We had a couple of new entries in the fish catching report for this past week from Puerto Morelos that included a pair of blue marlin, the first for this year. One was taken aboard the "Pescadora I" and the other aboard the "Relaxation" and both fish were in the 200 lb. range. The "Mojito" reported in with the only white marlin this past week, along with the only 2 king mackerel and 1 sailfish. The overall fish counts for a total of 19 days fished resulted in 2 blue marlin, 1 white marlin, 4 sailfish, 14 dorado, 4 giant barracuda, 3 wahoo, 2 king mackerel, 2 blackfin tuna, 1 Spanish mackerel, 24 bonito, 16 triggerfish, 14 snappers, 5 soapfish, 8 banana fish and 4 grumpy fish.


PM Climate: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy days with a 60% rain for the weekend projection and extending throughout the next week. Temps ranging from 76 nights to 87 daytime highs and humid.


Sea Conditions: Excellent water temps holding at 82-83 degrees throughout the area. Surface breezes flowing mostly from the easterly directions to 14 mph.


Best Bait: The ballyhoo baits continue to hold front-runner for the baits of choice for this area and are provided fresh on a daily basis.
