John Klein skippered Qualifier 105 on a five-day trip that returned to Pt. Loma Sportfishing August 9.

Fourteen year Chartermaster Chuck Barnett said, "Everybody got a couple fish, so it was spread out well."

"We had a decent scratch the first day on 40-55 pound yellowfin at Guadalupe," said Chuck's son Kevin Barnett. "The second day, we fished till noon and got nothin'. The ???big whites' were cruising around. It was freaky. I'm a surfer, so they gave me the chills."

"Yesterday we saw some albies boiling, just no bites," Kevin added. "There was some decent fish but overall it was pretty tough. It still beats working."

Original Chartermaster, grandfather and "Living Legend" A.C. Barnett, of Ojai, bagged a 67.4-pound yellowfin on a 4/0 Owner circle hook a Calcutta reel, 40-pound Maxima line and a custom wrapped rod by Dick Barnett.

Norm Plott, of Ojai, had a 70-pound yellowfin tuna, the biggest of the trip.
