Fish Report:
Fishing has been doing very well this week, only slowing down a little. Stripers and Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass have been hitting mainly Top Water Baits and Jerk Baits. You will find that Crank Baits and bait fishing for Stripers with anchovies is working in the early morning hours and just before sunset. The best Striper catch has been reported at the lower Narrows. Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass are frequently found along the shelves of Heron Bay, Swallow Bay and the Narrows. Catfish fishing has been good at any time of day. The bait that has worked the best for the Kitties have been Mackerel, Anchovies, Sardines or Chicken Liver. The Cats have been more frequently caught at Heron Bay and near the Dam. No Trout, Bluegill or Sunfish have been reported this week. If you want to fish for Trout the best bet is to use deep diving Jerk-baits and Crank baits or nightcrawlers. Fish at a depth of 15 to 25 ft. near the Dam or at Heron Bay. If you like to fish for Bluegill and/or Sunfish use Redworms or nightcrawlers.
