Surf Fly Fishing Classes

The class covers reading the water and understanding tides, a discussion on species, equipment, casting techniques and line management, as well as wading safety and strategies for a successful outing.

This class is designed to teach the secrets and techniques needed for a successful day in the local surf, which teems with halibut, corbina, perch and other species. The class includes one night during the week, with fishing "on the beach" that weekend.

A few items that are needed for the class: Current Fishing License, Waders, Boots, Leaders, Flies, Waterproof Jacket, Sunglasses, 7 or 8 weight Rod with 250- 300 grain line and a Stripping Basket (please let us know if you need to borrow rod/reel/stripping Basket). All gear required will be covered in the classroom session.

Classroom Session Cost:
$65.00 per student (limited to 24)surf-fly-fishing-class

Classroom & Beach Session Cost:
$125.00 per student (limited to 10)

Classroom Session:
Tuesday, July 23rd, 6:00pm-8:00pm

Beach Session:
Saturday, July 27th, 7:00am-10:00am
