Hi Everyone:
I am excited to have my fishing report up and running finally. I am just back from the North State Sportsmen's Expo and it was great to see so many of you that I had the pleasure of taking out on the northern lakes of California. Again, thank you for all of your support.
Right now Lake Oroville is fishing really good. Bags of 11 lbs, 12 lbs., to 13 lbs plus are being taking daily. Good numbers are also part of the mix as well. Three weeks ago I had a cancellation and my son Gino and granddaughter wanted to go out, the above photo is of my 4 year old granddaughter who just landed this 4 lb spot. To say the least, I was pretty proud of her. That day we had several 3 lb. spots, the one 4 lb spot and many 2 lb. spots and large mouth. This has been pretty much what has been the norm on Lake Oroville.
Lake Oroville is now 30 feet from the top and is rising about 4 to 6 inches per day with a water temp. between 55-60 degrees. The top water bite is just starting but is not real consistent yet however the swim bait, Paradise Tackle Co. jig, finesse jigs, senkos, worms and drop shots are all producing lots of bites.
Here is a photo of Craig Main, Photo #1 with a nice 4 1/2 lb. large mouth on the After Bay three weeks ago. The bite is getting better there with some coming on crank baits, senkos, Persuader spinner baits and Paradise Tackle jigs.
Clear Lake is fishing really good now and just about everything is working well there. Water temps are 55-60 degrees plus and the spawn is about to happen. In some places like the north part of the lake there is some spawning taking place.
Bullards Bar is still fishing off and on. A good day one day and the next day you wonder what happened. It will get better as Spring gets into full swing.
As of now I am booked up for April but am booking for May and June. These are the big number months . I hope to hear from you and as always,
Best regards,
Ron
