The fishing for Albacore was good for the anglers who ran out 20-36 miles out near the weather buoy and below the buoy. The best numbers were 36'37/122'22, 36'34/122'37, 36'30/122'27, 36'29/122'23 and near the buoy there were some nice fish caught. The closest fish I heard of were at 36'45/122'19 where a angler had a triple but ran back in due to the size of his boat. The wind was blowing 11-17 knots all day but there was no swell. The water is expected to be the same for a few more days and then get better. It looks like the Albacore are going to push in close to shore this year. The Salmon are still around near the Soquel Hole and in the shallow water near Capitola. I spoke to anglers who had 3 fish near 36'52/122'00 and 36'51/121'54. The Salmon are being caught 80-160 feet down on the troll. The Halibut bite was good for a few anglers who worked near the Lighthouse and also in Capitola. The Thresher Sharks and Seabass are in Capitola too so come fishing!

The Albacore bite was wide open today out near 36'34/122'32, 36'30/122'30, and 36'34/122'39. I fished on my friends boat and caught 15 Albacore and lost a few while trying to get them to go on live bait. Bocci Boy will be open for bait early so get here early because bait is the key. There were other boats who caught 20-30 fish in the same area. The water was like the best day in Mexico but not as hot just...... Read More
