Monterey Bay Fish Report 07-15-07

7-15-2007
Bayside Marine

The Albacore fishing was decent for those who braved the 15-20 knots of wind. The anglers were spread out from 36'30/122'25 to 36'36/122'37. The scores ranged from 2 fish from small boats and 13 fish for some of the bigger boats. The wind did pick up late in the day but the morning was fishable. The Salmon bite was good in Capitola where anglers caught some limits of Salmon in 80-110 feet of water. The Salmon were mixed in with some Silvers so be sure to check for white gums near the teeth. The Halibut bite was decent for anglers who worked in 40-60 feet of water near the Lighthouse and Capitola. There was to much wind to run up the coast today. There were some Thresher Sharks and Seabass sighted in Capitola.
