Another great fishing week from Puerto Morelos with the Marina El Cid Fishing Fleet that still had a couple of out of season sailfish in the mixed bag catch of some 14 species. According to our reporter from the Fleet's Office, they had a total of 31 fishing days that ranged from 4 to 8-hour trips that reflected 2 sailfish, 11 dorado, 6 giant Atlantic barracuda, 63 bonito, 1 wahoo, 2 king mackerel, 2 blackfin tuna, 5 Spanish mackerel, 23 grouper, 18 snapper, (cubera, dog-toothed, yellowtail) 11 banana fish, 5 triggerfish, 6 amberjack and 9 soapfish.

PM Climate: Mostly cloudy days with a slight chance for rain toward the end of the week. Temps are good, holding at 65 nights to 85 daytime highs and light surface breezes.

Sea Conditions: An excellent week for fishing with mostly calm waters and 5-10 mph surface breezes, mostly from the easterly directions, with temps stable at 81-82 and excellent clarity.

Best Bait/Lure: The freshly caught ballyhoo continue to be the bait of choice for the skippers of all of the boats for this area.
