In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.

Opening day and the first plant, 4,500 lbs of Nebraska Tailwalkers, are only about three weeks away. Beginning December eighth the Lake will re-open for weekday fishing.

We have had some large Catfish weighed in during the past couple of weeks, but none bigger than Bond Sensouly's 28.80# Blue caught last Saturday. Mr. Sensouly was using cut mackerel and fishing west of Senior Shoreline when he landed this behemoth. Just to prove it wasn't a fluke he caught a second cat weighing around 15.00#s. Catfish prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver. Stop by the ranger station for a dough bait recipe that works great on both Catfish and Carp.

A good number of small to medium sized Bass are being caught . Bass can be found mostly around structure and bite best in the early mornings and late afternoons. Dark colored plastics are a preferred bait.
