TROUT:
The Trout bite has been excellent following the opener stock of 2,500 lbs. Lakes 2, 3 and 4 have tagged trout and huge trophy trout. Catch a Trout 5 lbs. or larger and get entered into the April 1st drawing for a flat screen tv.

Bryen Borneman from Alpine caught a 5 lb. Trout out of lake 3 on a rooster tail.
Charlie Thonglek, pictured above caught a 4 lb. 13 oz. and a 3 lb. 8 oz. Trout out of lake 4 on pink and green powerbait. One fish was tagged and Charlie won FREE Fishing for a year! Congratulations!
Mike Green from Lakeside caught a 3 lb. Trout out of lake 4 on powerbait.
Robert Loveless caught a 3 lb. Trout out of lake 4 on good ol' Velveeta cheese.
Robert Walker, from Imperial Beach landed a 2  ? lb. tagged Trout out of lake 3 and won $25.
Chrim Nheap caught a tagged Trout and won a fishing pole.
Manny Roybal, caught a tagged Trout out of lake 3 and won a tackle bag.
Dennis Kebbler won a mini-fighter pole holder donated by www.samsoutdoorsman.com.
Bryan Romero and Baby Lilyanah, caught a tagged Trout and won a camping lantern.
Jerry Martinez Jr. also caught a tagged Trout and won $25. This fish was plucked from lake 4 on a nightcrawler.
Joshua Jones, from Spring Valley caught a 2 lb. 5 oz. tagged Trout out of lake 3 on powerbait and won a portable fire ring. Joshua said, "It's COLD." Welcome to Trout Season Josh.

Next stock of Trout will arrive by the end of this week.

CARP:
Doug McConnaughey, wrangled in an 11  ? lb. Carp out of lake 3 on a kastmaster.

Night Fishing (registered campers only, lakes 6&7)

** No California State Fishing License required to fish at Padre Dam's Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve.

Fishing Permit Fees
Adult (ages 16 and over) $9.00 per day
Junior (ages 7 to 15) $6.00 per day
Second fishing pole stamp $4.00
*One child under 7 may fish for free with a paid adult
