In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.

Opening day and the first trout plant are only about a month away. Beginning December eighth the Lake will re-open for weekday fishing.

Catfish are still being caught throughout the lake. The catfish prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver. Stop by the ranger station for a dough bait recipe that works great on both Catfish and Carp.

Bass can be found mostly around structure and bite best in the early mornings and late afternoons. Dark colored plastics are a preferred bait.
