The Bass bite is improving at Wohlford Lake, a 6.75 lb. bass was the big fish this week

Park Hours: 6:00 A.M. - 6:30 P.M. (Open Weekends, Closed Monday-Friday)
Dock Closes: 6:00 P.M.
Next Plant: Trout in December
Water Temperature: At surface 74.66 f., 6.29 D.O. @ 15' 74.84 f., 5.94 D.O.
Water Level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.
In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
The lake will be closed on weekdays through fall, re-opening for weekday fishing in December with the first Trout plant. The park will remain open on weekends.
The Bass bite is slowly improving. Mike Bonds of Escondido caught and released a 6.75# Bass he caught off the South Sore Rock Pile on a plastic worm. The Bass can be found mostly around structure and bite best in the early mornings and late afternoons. Dark colored plastics are preferred bait.
